Devon and Cornwall Refugee Trust Strategy Renewal
Concept Development
The concept development for the Devon and Cornwall Refugee Trust (DCRT) focuses on renewing their strategy under the tagline "More than a Status." This shift highlights the complex, multifaceted nature of refugees' identities, moving beyond the label of 'refugee' to emphasize their diverse stories, experiences, and contributions. DCRT aims to infuse personality into their visual outputs by incorporating imagery that reflects both individuality and community. Through the thoughtful integration of personal stories and emotive visuals, the campaign seeks to humanize and celebrate refugees, showcasing them as more than just a legal status. The refreshed messaging will resonate with empathy, connection, and the idea of belonging.
Visual Identity
The visual identity for DCRT embraces a vibrant, modern approach, incorporating bright greens and purples that echo the organization's previous colour palette while offering a fresh, dynamic feel. The design intentionally has a scrapbook-like quality, evoking a sense of personal connection and storytelling. A key visual element is the use of fingerprints transformed into illustrations of people helping each other, reinforcing the message of mutual support and solidarity. This symbolic touch aligns with the "More than a Status" strategy, reflecting the idea that every individual’s journey is unique and interconnected. To add further depth, bright, graphic elements like circles are integrated into the design, contributing to a contemporary aesthetic that feels both welcoming and engaging. Using animation, printed materials and online content, this visual identity allows the new strategy 'More than a status', to shine through.
